Invitation To Tender

There is no off the shelf website that is going to give you what you need! To get it right, you'll need help.

There is no magic formula that your web developer can give you because they don't know your business.  You do - and to get competitive quotes, you need to be able to deliver the same message to all your potential suppliers.

For website development, this will give you a very clear idea of the areas you need to consider.

You need to know that developers have a track measured record in success before you commit to anything and any documentation must lay out your needs clearly in order for you to make an informed decision on price, quality and outputs on responses.

This area is one we are often asked to help with and once done, we also can help score responses and check content against what you have asked for.  It is always good to have an impartial view on things.

There are two fundimental routes for you to take:

1.Have a very inexpensive site developed and rely on PPC (Pay per click) advertising campaigns - this can be very costly and ineffective
2.Have the site developed and optimised for Orgainc listings - for us, this is the recommended route as you gain all the benefits

It also makes sense to create PPC campaigns and have them running to 'kick start' the site's presence with your customers but again, unless you have done your keyword research, you will still be guessing at the relevance of search terms.

In PPC terms, search engines do not care how good the site is - they look for a page to land on within the advert.  Very costly if you 'get it wrong'!

You could engage the services of a marketing agency - this is great if you have a product that will give you a good return on investment and you have the budget to match expectations.

The trouble with all of this is it is only one element of consideration when inviting quotes for your site to be developed - there are many others that need equal consideration for instructions to be given.
